What are the benefits of black radish

The most abundant nutrient in black radish is vitamin C. 100 grams of black radish contains only 16 calories.

Like its close relatives, black radish impresses with its high glucosinolate content, especially in glucoraphanin.

This substance turns the body into sulforaphane - a compound that has been shown to have anticancer, immunostimulatory and antiviral properties in studies.

Prepared extracts from radish (root and aerial parts) have been used in traditional medicine in the treatment of many diseases:

» stomach disorders
» urinary tract infections
» inflammation of the liver
» heart problems
» gastric ulcers
» ball stones
» indigestion
» dyspepsia
» rheumatism
» arthritis
» respiratory diseases

Its therapeutic value is mainly due to glucosinolates, polyphenols and isothiocyanates.

Black radish fights diabetes, cancer, hepato-biliary diseases

Recent investigations have also investigated its anticancer and antidiabetic effects.

Like cabbage and broccoli, black radish is a rare source of indole-3-carbinol, a compound with remarkable detoxifying effects. Experimental studies have also associated it with a lower risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer due to its anti-estrogenic activity.

Its hepato-protective effects are also being studied by many researchers. In tests on mice, its compounds reduced the severity of fatty liver disease.

And in rats, black radish extracts attenuated liver damage induced by carbon tetrachloride. Moreover, radish inhibits the accumulation of lipids in the liver caused by oxidative stress.

Black radish extracts also have antidiabetic and hypoglycemic properties, due to insulin-like polyphenols and glucose-inhibiting compounds.

Black radish juice and syrup are among the most popular remedies among the people. They occur in rebellious cough, gallbladder disease and liver disease.

Black radish root stimulates bile function. In vitro studies have shown that freshly squeezed juice has notable antioxidant effects and combats the harmful effects of a high-fat diet.

Scientists in Mexico have tested the effects of radish juice on bile cholesterol stones and blood fats in mice.

After 6 days of treatment with radish juice, cholesterol stones were significantly eradicated from the gallbladder. Cholesterol and triglyceride levels have also dropped.

Chocolate mousse with avocado

Some accidents in the kitchen are happy! Trying to make a brownie I came up with this chocolate and avocado mousse recipe. And I liked it! I hope you like it too!

Keyword avocado, chocolate, mousse

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of whole avocado was 270g, without seeds and peel 220g
  • 50 g of powdered flour or 8 tbsp
  • 40 g carob or 8 tablespoons
  • 50 ml maple syrup
  • 50 ml of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons arroach flour (arrowroot)
  • 4 tablespoons water for arorut
  • 60 ml of water
  • 5 dates approx. 40g
  • a pinch of salt

Instructions

Peel an avocado and grate it.

In a cup or bowl, mix the 2 tablespoons of flour with 4 tablespoons of water and set aside.

I mixed the ingredients in the food processor, I put all the ingredients and turned them into a fine paste. If you don't have a food processor, you can grind the avocado manually and then add all the other ingredients one at a time.

Pour the composition into a suitable shape and place in the oven. I left it up and down for 20 minutes.

It is tastier after being a little cold, but if you don't have the patience you can taste it at room temperature.

I received several recurring questions. Here are the answers:

1. Yes, it binds with gauze and lasts 2-3 years! The syrup & # 8222 breathes through the gauze and evaporates a little forming a gelatinous layer on the surface, similar to a natural stopper.

2. It has a lot of sugar because it is SYRUP (not juice)! In a large glass pour 1 finger of syrup and dilute with plain water, mineral or soda.

3. I would not replace sugar with honey because it tastes like medicine. In addition, honey can trigger an unwanted fermentation process.

4. Lemon salt is crystallized, concentrated citric acid. Citric acid exists naturally in all fruits (especially citrus fruits) and is formed in the human body as a result of reactions (read here). Lemon juice contains citric acid but diluted and does not help me with this recipe. In addition, it diverts its taste and aroma.

5. Risk 10 lei: 4 lei costs 1 kg of strawberries and another 6 lei costs 2 kg of sugar and you get 3.5 L of concentrated strawberry syrup.

Here's how I made cherry syrup without boiling (raw) & # 8211 recipe here.

  • 1 kg strawberries or other fruits (cleaned scales)
  • 10 g of lemon salt
  • 700 ml of cold water
  • 2,250 kg of cough sugar

Overturned blackberry with black cherries and raspberries, whoever loves chocolate will surely love the fine taste of this cake full of chocolate and the delicious aroma of black fruit, syrupy with syrup that will surprise you.

You must specify from the beginning that you can prepare this cake in a large tray or make small portions directly in the bowl for one person. I prefer small portions for each person, but in this recipe I also have a small and large tray.
We start with the top and melt the butter, milk, 100 g of sugar, cocoa and boil a little until the sugar melts and becomes homogeneous. Let cool slightly to room temperature and add the yolks rubbed a little and mix well. Add the flavors and half of the amount of flour together with the baking powder so as not to leave too much when you add the egg whites.

Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they become foam and then add the remaining sugar (100g) and mix until it becomes a hard foam. Then mix with the above icing lightly and add the rest of the flour lightly. Pour the composition into a larger tray and bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees. When it is baked, you can leave the cake as it is whole or cut the top into smaller shapes for each person in which it will remain.

Cream

Break the chocolate into smaller pieces and put it in a pan together with the whipped cream. Stir constantly and be careful not to boil, just to melt and become very homogeneous. Turn off the heat, let the temperature cool down for a few minutes and add the butter, mixing until it becomes very creamy and sprinkle with a little rum to catch a very little aroma, however, the taste of chocolate must dominate.

Syrup

Use a natural syrup of bitter black cherries, if you have homemade cherries put for the winter is perfect. I will write you two variants of syrup. First, in 200 ml of water, more or less pour cherry syrup to be sweet and flavorful enough. If the cherry syrup is not very sweet, then leave it so concentrated by pouring only a little water in it, this is the first option. which we take 2-3 tablespoons and add to the water. Mix well and drain 2 teaspoons of lime.

Assembly

Cut the top with small, large round shapes or leave the whole top as I told you. Put in the bottom of the form black cherries from jam that is not very sweet and raspberries fresh or put in winter (you can find the recipe on the blog) must be a good layer on the entire surface of the pot. With a spoon, cover the fruit a little with a little icing, cover with the top that is placed upside down, syrup not very much because it is a wetter top anyway and when the syrup has been absorbed, pour the icing on the whole surface. It is ideal to have at least 3 mm more glaze, but for that you have to have space in the pot, I was a bit limited. Keep the cake in the fridge for 2 hours if you have patience. It is ideal for special occasions with friends who will surely be impressed by it. Good appetite!

The therapeutic effects of cherries are different depending on their type,

The syrup can be prepared from any kind of cherries, they must be fresh, healthy and well ripened - the cherries spoil quite quickly - so they do not need to be stored for a long time after harvesting.

It is the simplest and most handy recipe. The cherries can be frozen and then used throughout the year as ingredients in cakes, to decorate certain fine drinks or in smoothies. Obviously, they can be consumed as such. Once you have brought them home, you need to wash them well, remove their tails, remove the seeds and pack them in airtight plastic bags. Then all you have to do is store the bags in the freezer at -18 degrees Celius.

Choose ripe, bright red fruits that are firm to the touch, not stained or hit. Wash the cherries well, remove the stalks and seeds. Then put them in a clean and disinfected jar and add enough syrup to cover them. The syrup is prepared from water with sugar. The jars are hermetically sealed and stored in the refrigerator at temperatures of 4 degrees Celsius.
